Month of birth[edit]

I've seen many places give the month of his birth as "April" instead of "September" though day -- 3rd -- and year -- 1921 -- match up.

If his birthdate is written as numbers -- 4-3-1921 vs 9-3-1921 -- I can see where it's possible that a misread could happen. But not if written as words. I don't see how either "September" nor "Sept." could be misread as either "April" or "Apr."

But since "April" is out there, I think that his birthdate should be verified with multiple references/sources/citations as long as those references/sources/citations don't all go back to ONE source.

Just an idea. 2600:8800:786:A300:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 17:38, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Entertainment writer Erskine Johnson gave April 3, 1921, in this newspaper article in 1965.Eddie Blick (talk) 13:59, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

I think an effort should be made to find the exact date of his passing.

Also, I think it should be included in the article WHY his death wasn't reported/revealed to the public for over two months.

Just a suggestion. 2600:8800:786:A300:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 17:43, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Though I see that an exact and accurate date of death has been included, I still think there should be some mention in the article as to why his passing was not publicly revealed for over two months. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 04:48, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The "Death" section has the wrong inline citation source. That source states an October death time. There is nothing in that source that mentions a September death.

As such, the citation needscto be corrected. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 04:44, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
