Proposed page move[edit]

If Mohamed Ibrahim Warsame is generally known as Hadrawi, then I propose we re-name this article to the latter. (Much in the same way that Eric Blair is generally known as George Orwell, or Paul Hewson as Bono.) At any rate, it looks clumsy to have the pen name or nickname set off at the end in single quotes. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 12:49, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Same issue with Maxamed Xaashi Dhamac 'Gaariye'. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 13:18, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have corrected this article. You are correct. It is non-standard to name it the way it was. Hadrawi is his common name and that should be the article title. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 05:03, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First: his given name is Mohamed Ibrahim Warsame his birht name second his nickname is Hadraawi . and if this is to be done in this article so it must be done in : Manfred von Richthofen nickname :The Red Baron Margaret Thatcher nickname:The Iron Lady. John Wayne nickname: The Duke. benito mussolini nickname:el duce. and much more P.S do know what Hadraawi means in Somaliland language .— Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.191.166.167 (talk) 18:46, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your suggestion. As far as what Hadraawi means, I don't know and not sure that it is relevant. Possibly could be mentioned in article. Regarding the page name and which name is listed first in the article: The main question is what name is he most commonly known as? The articles I have seen, while they do sometimes mention his full name, most of the time just call him Hadraawi. He is known by his nickname primarily it appears (at least, in the English language articles I have seen). The examples given above, while known by their nicknames, were not primarily known by their nicknames. They were known by their given names and sometimes called the other things. Examples where people are known more by nicknames or pen-names include: Bono, Madonna, Lady Gaga, etc. The question then is "What is he most commonly known as?" The sources we have in the article call him Hadraawi primarily. If he is primarily known by his real/full name, please provide the sources that show this. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 19:00, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyedit[edit]

The article needs substantial copyediting. I've added the {{copyedit}} tag as I can't address this myself right now. I did remove the external link, as it isn't in English (if we are going to include a non-English external link, we should instead use http://www.hadrawi.com/ which is the subject's official website). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 15:28, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did some major copy-edit, but since I've never heard of this guy I might have gotten a bunch of stuff wrong. In particular, it was not clear to me what was meant by "liberation of Somalia" (I assume the author meant Somali independence??). Anyway, it's better now, but not nearly enough to remove the copy-edit tag. --Jaysweet 23:03, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is really a Commons issue, since that's where you uploaded the photo. But the same photo (from 2008) may be found at http://www.hiiraan.com/comments2-op-2008-dec-my_encounter_with_abwaan_hadrawi_an_enchantment.aspx. You only specified your computer as the source, but you did not specify how it got there, nor who took the photo. Again, though, this is really a Commons issue. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 14:54, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
