Translation clarification[edit]

@Jamez42 -- Avíseme si es mejor hacerle estas preguntas en español (que no es mi primer idioma). I'd like to make sure I got a couple things correct in the translation. First: if I want to refer to Flor María Chalbaud with just her surname, should that be "Chalbaud"? Second: Does the phrase "constituida por las damas que conformaban el gabinete presidencial" mean that the Society was made up of women who were in the presidential cabinet, or that the Society was made up of women whose husbands were in the presidential cabinet? Thank you, and let me know. Cloud atlas (talk) 05:43, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Cloud atlas: Hi, thank you for proofreading the article! I should manage to answer in English. In this case María would be her middle name, referring to her as "Chalbaud" should be alright as long as she's not mistaken with her cousin, in which case it would be better to call her "María Chalbaud". I visited the original reference and it seems to mean the Society was made up of the First Ladies, meaning it would be the former meaning. Please let me know if you have any other doubts :) --Jamez42 (talk) 18:39, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Jamez42: -- In looking at the source, it doesn't seem to mention anything about the presidential cabinet (el gabinete presidencial). Maybe it means that the Society was always led by whomever was the first lady at the time? If you think that's the case, then I would make the English article say: "Chalbaud took part in the creation of the Bolivarian Ladies Society, thenceforth customarily led by the Venezuelan first lady." What do you think?
@Cloud atlas: What I thought when I read the article was that the editor meant that the First Lady was implicitly a member of the cabinet, and because of this I'm inclined to think that yes, it means the incumbent First Lady. I think that your phrase would be accurate and I support including it in the article.--Jamez42 (talk) 21:14, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
