Someone seems to have spliced this article on Crosby's book with Jared Diamond's far more recent (and frankly less scholarly or accurate) work. It is peppered with 'both' when actually only describing Crosby's book. This page should be solely about the book Ecological Imperialism, its contents as of 1986. If necessary there could be a further section on how Diamond picks up on certain themes for a recent book of popular science, but there wouldn't be much to add - Diamond is a populariser, Crosby was a groundbreaking ecologist. In fact I've noticed this in several pages about ecology - has Diamond's publicist been trawling wikipedia for opportunities to advertise his work as influential ecological research?!
