Why "typography", and where did the illustrations come from?

These were reintroduced in the latest edition of the Dictionnaire by Pierre Flobert." --Meaning that the terms themselves have been reintroduced (when were they removed?), or meaning that the allusive translations have been reintroduced (why?), or both?
