Accessibility & Context Needed[edit]

This article is a good start and I am thankful to it's author. This is a valuable topic for the encyclopaedia. It provides good material for the more technical reader. It needs the usual WP convention of indicating the reaction simply using the format below:

      Substrates [1..n] => End_Product + By_Products [0..n]

This would give an indication of context with respect to wider bio-chemistry. It also need editing to the introduction looks a lot more like plain english.

Scope Needed[edit]

An indication of it's relevance for the layman is also needed as is an indication of whether it is relevant to to Eukaryotes (and therefore humans) or purely to microbial life. It currently seems to have a strong microbial context.

Humans do produce this compound but is the enzyme identical, where does the conversion occur (every cell/liver/kidneys) ?
