The last version was a complete rip of this page: [1], so I deleted it all. I somehow clicked the minor edit change by accident too. Stev87 23:15, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure that "Selina Murray" existed, although if she did she must have been "noble".

Proposal to expand the history of lacemaking in Carrickmacross[edit]

My interest is in the history of lacemaking and I have recently updated the Wikipedia entry on Carrickmacross lace.[[2]]. I propose:

1. To insert a link to that page.

2. To insert historical material about the origin of the lace in 1820, its development in the 1840s, and its decline thereafter. At present there is no information about this, the description starting with the 1890s revival by "The Nuns" (more precisely, the Sisters of St Louis).

Although I am not Irish and have no association with the town of Carrickmacross, I trust that inserting such historically uncontrovertable material does not meet with any objection.

Don't see why it would. Go for it! RashersTierney (talk) 01:19, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Will wait a few days to see if I can find out when the Lace Cooperative was set up. Have emailed them (or at least the sales outlet). Does anyone else know? Socialambulator (talk) 22:47, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Got the info from someone else and have now mounted the update. It might be better with a sub-heading: i.e. in a section of its own, but I leave that to others to decide. Socialambulator (talk) 20:53, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
