Faster than Reyes[edit]

either Keith or Ron said yesterday that Reyes himself tells the press that Gomez is faster. 207.29.128.130 15:29, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just need a source for that. -- Amazins490 22:04, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I happened by Carlos's page today and wanted to clean up some prepositional grammar in this section:
"While they were teammates, Mets shortstop José Reyes, who led the National League in stolen bases and triples for multiple seasons, said that Gómez is faster than he is. In fact, while he and Reyes were teammates with the Mets, he routinely beat Reyes in foot races during Spring training 2007."
I'm going to change it to this:
"While they were teammates, Mets shortstop José Reyes, who led the National League in stolen bases and triples for multiple seasons, said that Gómez is faster than he is. In fact, while he and Gómez were teammates with the Mets, Gómez routinely beat him in foot races during Spring training 2007."208.28.117.34 (talk) 20:44, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Carlos Record Tidbit[edit]

While the item in the Trivia section is certainly interesting, is a citation possible? I have a hard time believing that there has never existed a three-Carlos lineup... Zookman12 02:33, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was true (I remember them mentioning it on the radio) but as far as citations, right now I can only find this: [1] which I certainly wouldn't consider to be a totally trustworthy source.... so I added a "citation needed" tag until someone can find something to replace it -- Amazins490 (talk) 02:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

new pics[edit]

the cycle[edit]

Luke Scott, Jim Fregosi and Gee Walker have all hit for the reverse natural cycle. Saw a tidbit in an ESPN article, dug around and found this box score/play-by-play [2] to confirm the Fregosi reverse natural cycle. The other two are well-known as "the only two players to ever hit for the reverse natural cycle". shaggy (talk) 18:30, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Failed trade to the Mets[edit]

Should we mention it here? Is it's encyclopedic value to Gomez significant? (If only it would serve as a deterrent to people trying to "break the news" of an uncompleted trade on Wikipedia.) – Muboshgu (talk) 00:44, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps we should. It's more relevant to Wilmer Flores's article because of the crying in the game incident, but some other players' articles (such as Mike Lowell, just to name one off the top of my head) also mention trades that were called off. --A guy saved by Jesus (talk) 00:48, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Without looking, I can say with certainty that A Rod's page mentions the failed trade to Boston for Manny. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:54, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
