The larger one consists of the village of Céligny on a hill above Lake Geneva along with the small Le Brassus valley; being adjacent to a part of Lake Geneva belonging to the Canton of Geneva (but not to the municipality of Celigny) it is thus neither an exclave nor an enclave.

Do the lake parts of the canton belong to no municipality? According to the map, Céligny proper and the adjacent part of the lake do together form an exclave (but not an enclave because it has two neighbors: Vaud and France). —Tamfang (talk) 06:35, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Yes, that is correct. No part of the lake belongs to any municipality of the cantons of Vaud, Valais, and Geneva. In Geneva this is also true of the rivers and underground waters: this is made clear in the constitution (art. 159) and in the cantonal law on water (art. 3.4 and 5.2). Hi Sapphorain, according to the map, the adjacent part of Lake Geneva is also unconnected to the main part of the Canton of Geneva. This makes the village of Céligny together with the adjacent part of lake a single exclave of the Canton of Geneva, so I think the article's wording is currently misleading.
