Request: someone write up on "The Avery Fisher Center for Music and Media" at NYU.

Major Deegan[edit]

I hope Fisher's joke about Major Deegan comes through. Everybody who drives around New York City knows the Major Deegan expressway, but very few New Yorkers could identify Major Deegan. --Nbauman (talk) 00:56, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

He did a lot more.[edit]

This is a rather terse biography. If I recall correctly, Avery Fisher spent some years designing and installing custom installations before founding the company that bore his name. Someone should flesh-out the details. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 13:14, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

techno-hagiography[edit]

This article reads like promotional material. There's at least one mistake -- the first transistor amplifier came from Transistronics, around 1958 or '59. This and other apparent errors can't be removed without butchering the article. But I've removed some of the gushier and unjustifiable adjectives.
