German invasions[edit]

Could be a little more on how the library was destroyed by the Germans in WWI, rebuilt in great splendor and at great expense using donations which in significant part came from the U.S., and was then destroyed again by the Germans in WW2. It was an incident which may not have had all that much importance in comparison to the whole scope of WW2, but which helped in its own way to solidify anti-German feelings in the U.S. during 1940-1941...
