1990 U.S. Open (tennis)1990 US Open (tennis) — It would bring the article in line with others in this series (1988 US Open, 1989 etc. Totalinarian (talk) 20:34, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's policy on article titles.
  • Support for consistency with other articles. Re the point in the comments below, the official website refers to it exclusively as "US Open" (without periods) so that seems to be the correct name.  — Amakuru (talk) 11:21, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Any additional comments:
  • The proposed rename would match the base title US Open (tennis) and the other tournament titles. But I still don't like it. Tennis and darts are the only U.S. Opens that don't use periods, and it looks bad. Powers T 20:14, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
