Swapan Majumder is an famous drug smuggling accused and Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party. He was arrested for drug smuggling by the BJP-led government in Assam. After one year, he was released from the case and joined the BJP. In May 2021, he was elected as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Bangaon Dakshin (constituency).[1][2][3][4] He defeated Alo Rani Sarkar of All India Trinamool Congress by 2,004 votes in 2021 West Bengal Assembly election
