The Ministry of Science, Research, and Arts is the highest state authority for all public universities, most non-university research institutions, academic libraries, archives and art institutions in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. This German state is the premier research region in Europe for topics from artificial intelligence (AI) to life sciences to engineering. The ministry also supports the arts such as the Stuttgart ballet, the state opera, Stuttsgart's Staatgalerie, and support several universities in the state for degrees in music and the arts. Further, the ministry supports the more than 70 state and private higher education institutions, the most in any German state. This infrastructure and responsibilities of the ministry are funded either institutionally your through projects.

Petra Olschowski has been minister since September 2022. State Secretary Arne Braune also heads the ministry with Ms. Olschowski. Dr. Hans Reiter acts as the ministries general deputy.
