Note on gender[edit]

Actor is a gender-neutral term. It is appropriate to use on articles of people who have non-binary gender identities. - CorbieV 18:19, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Subcats[edit]

Um, shouldn't we make some subcats? Maybe by genre, period, race, sex, something? NickelShoe 04:16, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think anyone is prepared to go through and change eevrything. Michael 00:51, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't agree. This is a category by nationality and (sub)profession and that is as far as subcategorisation should go. In a few cases the resulting categories will be very large, but that isn't really a problem as we have category indexes. There are usually awards categories of some kind that one can use to pick out the most prominent members of a profession, and hopefully a future software upgrade will allow sorting by number of edits, number of incoming links, or some other criterion that identifies higher profile articles. Exactly...It's only one listing-not a listing of five different elements. Michael 02:45, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Subcat: Classic Film Stars[edit]

I would really like to see a subcategory of classic film stars, or of film stars/actors by decades or "periods" or something.

also, I was looking for an article that discussed hollywood history in such a way as to discuss the periods of American mainstream cinema (such as when the studios pretty much owned the actors through the actors having much more power and control) but I couldn't find what I was looking for. I tried hollywood, history of hollywood, history of cinema. If anyone knows please let me know!
