History[edit]

Bonava originated within NCC and its business area, NCC Housing. The company's history in residential and community development dates back to the 1930s. Through its residential projects and acquisitions of other companies, Bonava has gradually built up extensive experience and expertise in residential development over the decades.

As part of the group’s strategic review in 2021, it was decided to discontinue operations in Denmark. In 2023, Bonava sold its operations in Norway, now operating under the name Nåbo, and completed the sale of its operations in St. Petersburg, thereby ending all activities in Russia.
