Copyvio section[edit]

I've commented out the section on copyright violations, because I think it is poor advice that will lead people to make problematic edits. You can't take a copyrighted work, make a minor modification to it and reupload it as your own - by doing that you create a derivative work and the original creator will still have a valid copyright claim. In addition we have an established process for uploading low quality versions of the images mentioned in the essay under claims of fair use, and it is slightly troubling from an encyclopaedic integrity standpoint to suggest out articles should be illustrated with subtly modified versions of images. 192.76.8.81 (talk) 20:58, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
