Report[edit]

How was the event? Sorry I was unable to attend. --Another Believer (Talk) 18:32, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I was only able to stop in for an hour or so but I had a wonderful time. Wish I could have stayed longer. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 18:48, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I had a blast too. I think we might structure the next event more (not a whole lot of editing, this time around), but it was great to introduce some librarians and archivists to the wonders of wiki. - J-Mo Talk to Me Email Me 21:25, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's great! --Another Believer (Talk) 12:50, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's kind of a dirty secret of editathons that not a lot of editing happens because people are too fascinated to talk to each other about Wikipedia and actually meet Wikipedians in person. The real editing often happens when new users go home and explore Wikipedia on their own. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:17, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I thought it was fantastic. It was great to see the Wikipedians interfacing with the librarians and archivists -- two communities that really appreciate quality sources and know how to find them. Highlights for me were when someone headed off to the microfilm room to look something up in the newspaper archives, and someone else headed off to get a book from the stacks to look something up.!
