Join 'Wikimedians Active in Local Regions of the United States' (WALRUS)![edit]

Now that your region is joining the Great American Wiknic, we'd like to invite a representative from the group, who should ideally have some experience organizing local meetups, to join the Wikimedians Active in Local Regions of the United States (WALRUS) committee to help advance real-life Wikimedian activities in the US.

We'd also love to invite all wiki-Michiganders to join discussions at wikimediaus-l.--Pharos (talk) 05:06, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good events to start with might be a Wikipedia:Wikipedia Takes Your City or Wikipedia:Workshop.--Pharos (talk) 20:38, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Time & Location[edit]

How does 2:00pm at the Detroit Public Library sound to everyone? It's right across the street from the Tech Fair. I had kinda stalled on planning things because for so long it was only me and Unforgiven24 but I'd say 5 is a respectable group. Also if you have it I'd say to bring a laptop and a camera. Well, given the lack of reply I think I'll just say everyone enjoy the Tech Fair, and we'll meet up there if possible. PeRshGo (talk) 15:57, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wiknic- did it happen?[edit]

Did you folks have a successful get-together for the Wiknic, or was there a problem with things quite congealing?--Pharos (talk) 00:43, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Did anybody try to go?--Pharos (talk) 17:12, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Join Wikipedia Loves Libraries with a local wiki-event in October![edit]

With the recent experience of the Great American Wiknic in June, we'd like to invite you to join the exciting sequel: Wikipedia Loves Libraries. Please add your ideas for a local librarycentric wiki-event to the national page :)--Pharos (talk) 02:02, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Spring 2022 Meeting[edit]

Hey everyone! I am looking to organize a Michigan-based Wikipedia event, perhaps around 3 days, where we could all meet around a certain theme or themes. Let me know what you think? I am mostly active within the cultural and music-based worlds of Wikipedia, so that is my expertise. This is the first time I am trying to organize something like this so please if anyone has any advice or would like to help me I am all ears. I am posting this notice on the Ann Arbor and Michigan pages as well. My email in johndvandevert@gmail.com if you'd like to reach out. JohnDVandevert (talk) 03:31, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
