Applying defining example[edit]

Li Ka-shing[edit]

Source of the rule[edit]

Where did this rule about "definingness" of categories originate? Was there broad consensus or was it a close call? It is much more restrictive than in other language versions of Wikipedia, and has drawbacks, though I understand the aim of avoiding overcategorization.
