Wikipedia:Zero-sum BLP

The general practice with biographies of living persons is to "err on the side of caution" – however, in certain cases, there is no "side of caution", and we absolutely cannot afford to "err" at all.

This is most obvious in the case of a real-world dispute between two or more people. Portraying one side of the dispute in too positive a way effectively disparages the other party. We need to make sure we're absolutely neutral, rather than attempting to step away from that edge in a "safe" direction. This is true even if one of the parties of the dispute is either patient enough to use OTRS, litigious enough to get the attention of the WP:OFFICE, or any other reason that may apply.
