The aims of ENGL 2010 are to introduce students to the rhetorical principles, professional practices, and research skills they will need to write professionally in a variety of industries, fields, and contexts. Students enrolled in ENGL 2010 will:

  • Deepen their knowledge of professional writing in the workplace and society;
  • Broaden their knowledge of writing technologies, cultures, and practices;
  • Develop a writing style and tone appropriate to post-graduate (i.e., professional & public) audiences & contexts;
  • Gain experience producing and editing examples of business, technical, and public-facing writing.
