This course is SWK 521 which is Part 2 of HBSE SWK 520. Students gain a deeper understanding of the specific theories related to middle and older adults. They explore social, economic, and cultural challenges that unfold as middle and older adults go through these life span changes. They also learn how to apply concepts and constructs of middle and older adulthood theories to human development. The impact of other variables pertaining to economic and social oppression of older adults are explored. as well. This is done within the context and framework of applicable theories. In addition, students offer research driven practical solutions and suggestions to address the challenges that accompany middle and older adulthood.
