Join Students make History, a wiki edit-a-thon for high school students to edit Cvillepedia articles about the history of Charlottesville and Virginia! This is a private event for high school students at the Charlottesville Tomorrow community space at the downtown mall.
At the event students will get an introduction to online publishing in wikis. Librarians will share books and articles covering history topics related to Charlottesville. Students will read these books at the event, find facts in them, then publish those facts in Cvillepedia. Everyone at the event will learn history, how to check facts, and how to share information and citations online.

Advance preparation[edit]
- In advance of the event, teachers and librarians at the school should
- introduce the concept of citations
- introduce the concept of what makes sources more and less reliable
- Build out topics and resources for writing those topics, such as at the draft list
- Journalism and research might be more reliable
- Miscellaneous online self-published sources might be less reliable
- Event participants should register wiki accounts
- Request a Cvillepedia account
- Register a Wikipedia account
