So many things to do...

Every Monday, the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand publishes to music charts, and they get put up online on Tuesday, at http://rianz.org.nz/rianz/chart.asp.

There are multiple things that need doing every week.

  • Update the lists of number-ones: singles albums, compilations, DVDs and radio airplays.
  • If there is a new number-one single or album:
    • go to the article of the new number-one and add the succession boxes (see below)
    • go to the page of last week's number one and update the succession boxes (ie the successor and dates)
  • Run through all of the singles and albums that have made a higher spot than they did last week, and update the chart peak on their article
    • Go to the discography page(s) of the artist(s) and update the chart peaks on there, too
  • Take a look at the new albums and singles certifications. Update articles and discographies and relevant

Succession boxes[edit]

Copy this code into the new number-one's article (change 'single' to 'album' if it is an album), and fill in the parameters:

{{s-start}}
{{s-bef|before=}}
{{s-ttl|title=[[Recording Industry Association of New Zealand|New Zealand Singles Chart]] [[List of number-one singles in 2010 (New Zealand)|number-one single]] |years=chart date - present}}
{{s-inc}}
{{s-end}}

When a single has finished its run, replace {{s-inc}} with

{{s-aft|after=}}

If there are already succession boxes on the article, you don't need the {{s-start}} and {{s-end}} codes. If there are the same predecessors and/or successors, use the rows parameter(s). See Template:s-start for more information on succession boxes.
