This section of the WikiProject Colombia focuses on providing a guide to improve history of Colombia and history of Colombian regions and cities within its boundaries. It is closely related to the WikiProject History and WikiProject Military history.

Scope of the History of Colombia[edit]

To provide a concise and accurate record of notable facts and data, organizations, individuals and events in history, including background and their current status.
To provide a framework (including infoboxes, categories, and examples of Best Practice) from within which scholarly entries about history, and related topics, may be produced.
To provide a scholarly set of terminology to describe history which is technically, culturally, and contextually accurate.
To seek out and apply verifiable mainstream sources to pages within the projects scope with the aim of A) addressing any issues of verified and reliability that have been highlighted in existing entries B) ensuring that new entries are of sufficient quality that their verified and reliability does not become an issue.
To ensure that each entry approaches its topic from a balanced and neutral perspective.
To ensure that the notability of each topic can be gleaned from its entry, without the need for additional explanation.
To expand project stubs to full entries and to progress full entries to the next level.
Patrol frequently vandalized pages within the project's scope.

Archaeology in Colombia - study of past human cultures through the recovery, documentation and analysis of material remains and environmental data.

Archontology - study of historical offices and important positions in state, international, political, religious and other organizations and societies.

History painting - the painting of works of art having historical motifs or depicting great events

Social history - the study of Colombian societies and social trends in the past.

Futurology - study of the future: researches the medium to long-term future of societies and of the physical world.

Naval history - the branch of military history devoted to warfare at sea or in bodies of water.

Natural history - history of the natural world, now usually referred to as science

Political history of Colombia - the study of past political events, ideas, movements, and leaders in Colombia.

Psychohistory - study of the psychological motivations of historical events in Colombia.
