Original – The Rokeby Venus, a 17th century painting by Diego Velázquez. This oil on canvas work, which measures 122 cm × 177 cm (48 in × 69.7 in), depicts the Roman goddess of love Venus admiring herself in the mirror, held by her son Cupid.
True Original – Unedited
Reason
Beautiful, high resolution, notable painting. I've checked with this reference, and the colours seem accurate. (Bonus points: Featured article)

  • Comment I haven't seen the actual painting to compare, but it looks bleached. Maybe some saturation is warranted. Brandmeistertalk 11:16, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support alt - the one labeled "True original" has better coloring. Clegs (talk) 08:58, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support More concerned about which is correct. The virtual tour of the museum shows the painting with colours like the first image here. I'll support whichever is the more correct. Saffron Blaze (talk) 00:40, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support alt I'm going to assume that the NPG took the care to get the colours right. JJ Harrison (talk) 22:42, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support alt: colour detail is much better. Julia\talk 22:24, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
