Original – The Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut was designed by Philip Johnson as his own residence. After its completion in 1949 it was widely publicized, and became influential in popularizing Modernism in the United States. It was inspired from the Farnsworth House design designed by Mies van der Rohe.
