The Longest Day (film)[edit]

i think its not really there yet but with a little more work it could be.

Then it shouldnt be nominated. See the instructions and steps leading to a FA. --Stbalbach 16:48, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Needs quite a lot more: history of the film and production, historical realism, variance from the book, etc etc. I might also object to the quotes section, which whilst interesting might be overlong for this kind of entry (if indeed it is encyclopaedic at all). Has an overall feeling of being too 'listy' and does not feature enough continuous prose. Wasn't The Longest Day the most expensive B + W film ever made? Where is this in the article? Also I recall that it was made at the same time as Cleopatra and had attendent problems (although this may be IMDB gibberish, I would have to check). A few presumed typos too (e.g. 'Steel'/'Steele'). Some way to go before it is FA quality, imho, but certainly by no means a terrible article at all. Badgerpatrol 02:34, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The article as is fails on just about every count - there are no references, and there is no article! The brief intro is followed by a laundry list of bit part players, the lyrics to the theme song, and an unencyclopedic listing of "trivia" stolen from IMDb. There is really no "article" here to speak of.Michael Dorosh 17:54, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
