Tagging pages for speedy deletion

Hello, Prodraxis,

Please do not tag pages for speedy deletion CSD G5 unless the page creator is a confirmed sockpuppet who is blocked AND there are no significant contributions to the article by other editors. Do not tag pages for deletion based only on your suspicions of sockpuppetry. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:40, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

Understood. — Prodraxis {talkcontributions} (she/her) 01:41, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
And another comment. If you have issues with a troll or vandal, it's best to contact an admin who is active directly on their talk page rather than starting a case on ANI. ANI is for really complex cases that can't be easily resolved. But talk page access can be removed by any admin so get friendly with a few and go directly to them to handle these things rather than going to the drama board. Thank you. Liz Read! Hello Podraxis,

Thanks for your welcome page! I'll check out the links you presented as soon as I can. Am I doing this right? VoltMatrix (talk) 05:13, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

@VoltMatrix: So far, yeah you are doing well! Just FYI, you don't have to sign your posts on top of Talk page messages; you only have to do them at the end of your messages. Also, I noticed that someone reverted your edits to Insomnia (novel); that was because it did not fit with the Wikipedia styling conventions for plot. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me on my Talk page or email me anytime. Again, welcome and happy editing! Cheers, — Prodraxis {talkcontribs} (she/her) 14:13, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, I understood in post why my changes to Insomnia were removed. I'll refer to the guidelines more in the future if I find any ways to improve a Wikipedia page.

Thanks a lot! --Civvì (talk) 17:13, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

You're welcome! Lately I've been seeing you everywhere reverting that LTA crosswiki - great job! — Prodraxis {talkcontribs} (she/her) 20:38, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

UAA

Thanks for the report at WP:UAA. Rip indra chan Bot is a bot name but the associated username Rip indra chan is active on viwiki, not here. It's unlikely the bot (if it turns out to be a legitimate bot) will be active on enwiki. Please don't report users at WP:UAA if they haven't edited on this wiki. New page reviewer granted

Hi Prodraxis. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Steps such as checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline are mandatory and will take a few minutes per article.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any required steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:44, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

Thank you! — Prodraxis {talkcontribs} (she/her) 22:50, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

Welcome to WikiProject Amusement Parks!

Hello Prodraxis and welcome to WikiProject Amusement Parks!

I see that you have begun work on T Express and have nominated it for WP:DYK. I wanted to thank you for already nominating an amusement industry-related article for expansion recognition and to let you know you are doing awesome work so far! If you are seeking out additional resources, check out the Wikipedia Library (namely Newspapers.com or ProQuest) which may aid in research. If you have any questions or concerns, drop a post on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Amusement Parks where we'd be happy to help assist you. Again, welcome to the WikiProject!

All the best. Adog (TalkCont) 21:16, 26 July 2023 (UTC)

@Adog: Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I'm not sure I can access the Wikipedia Library right now because I only registered 5 months or so ago, but I will continue finding resources for the article - I wish to take it to GA one day (I was shocked to find this article as a largely unreferenced stub because it's the tallest woodie in the world). One thing though, after I nominated it for DYK some information got removed which would in turn not make the article meet the 5x requirement. If so, is it still eligible for DYK or will I have to put that on hold until I get a successful GAN? — Prodraxis {talkcontribs} (she/her) 21:35, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
Hey! You are right, they require at least 6+ months editing. Though, there are some ways around this. If you need some research you cannot access, the lovely editors at Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request are happy to help. I asked to get access to some articles for Rampage (roller coaster) and they delivered big time. I can also try to look into whether the above have research pertaining to T Express in my free time.
A lot of articles tend to be that way, but that is why we are here. I can tell you from personal experience Iron Gwazi looked similar to a stub or start when I first edited the page. I sometimes like to think we are the manufacturers of articles, haha.
For the DYK issue, from my understanding, so long as the 5x expansion is within the 7 days it should be A-ok (sometimes at DYK they let you go a day or so over to nominate an eligible article in good faith). If the article's prose go under the required limit per comments made on the nomination, you should have time to add content to satisfy the minimum criteria (it has not been a week yet, so you do have time to add). If the review fails outright after the 7 days have lapsed, you can always re-nominate once you expand it, again 5x or nominate for WP:GAN. No rush! :) Adog (TalkCont) 22:15, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
@Adog: Ok, thanks for the tip! You know what? Actually, I think I can get it to 5x within the next few days so I think this can still be nominated for DYK.Well, I did get it back up to 5x. — Prodraxis {talkcontribs} (she/her) 22:41, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
Good luck! Adog (TalkCont) 03:13, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
