Hello Williamseanohlinger and Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. As a first step, you may wish to read the Introduction.

If you have not already created a account here, note that you do not have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. Without a username, your IP address is used to identify you.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me at my talk page — I'm happy to help. Or, you can ask your question at the New contributors' help page.

Here are some more resources to help you as you explore and contribute to the world's largest encyclopedia...

Spartan[edit]

It is obvious that you are connected to Spartan, so you have a conflict of interest. You need to read that link. I would also suggest that you edit your user page to declare a conflict of interest, as I do for example as an author of VB2000. I am not being critical. I think your edits are fine, but perhaps getting close to the edge of being unsuitable as just promoting Spartan. I hope you will branch out and edit other pages, particularly those on computational chemistry. --Bduke (Discussion) 00:37, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I will read the conflict of interest link and edit my user page as you suggest. I am very (VERY) new to Wikipedia contributions and etiquette. I take no offense at all and appreciate your help and guidance (I don't feel you are being critical at all). At present I have provided additional edit for only 4 articles (other than the Spartan (software) page). I am a biochemist by training and will do as you suggest, "branch out and edit other pages, particularly those on computational chemistry." Thanks for the help/mentoring! --Williamseanohlinger (talk) 02:38, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. Let me know if you want any advice, but I will be off-wiki a lot of the next 6 weeks. --Bduke (Discussion) 03:09, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

August 2013[edit]

Addition of contents that you authored yourself as can be seen here and writing for the company you work for in a manner that is not consistent with our neutrality policy is very concerning. Cantaloupe2 (talk) 17:17, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Recent additions to the page are both factual and neutral, citations were meant to reflect the most accurate information available. Additional content was certainly not meant to conflict with the neutrality policy. Williamseanohlinger (talk) 17:45, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
