If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Blood & Iron, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your Blood and iron draft[edit]

Hi - first of all, I'm working on the assumption that you have zero connection to the game, and are just a fan? If you have any connection to the subject, you need to read WP:COI and WP:PAID, and take the necessary steps.

Now, having looked at the draft, I can see why it was declined; I can also see why someone put a speedy deletion tag on it - I don't think it meets the criteria, but it needs a lot of work before it's publishable. Here are some tips:

  • You need to demonstrate that the subject is notable, as we define the term here. The simplest way to explain this is to ask you to read WP:GNG. You need multiple sources, which are reliable, secondary and independent of the subject, writing about the subject in significant detail, in order to establish that we should host an article about that. All your draft has at present are links to the Roblox website, which is an affiliated source and so not independent. Blogs won't help, you need established gaming publications writing decent-length reviews of it, that sort of thing.
  • We don't address the reader in the second person (you), write in the third person. (Eg: A group of between 2 and 40 players vote...)
  • Make sure all your prose is neutrally written and factual.
  • Take a look at WP:FIRST.

I hope that's all clear, best GirthSummit (blether) 10:03, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I see from the notice below this one that you submitted that draft again. If you want that draft to be published, you will need to take the following steps:
  • Find some sources which are independent of the subject, secondary and reliable. Wikia websites are user-generated, and inherently unreliable. An example of such a source would be an in-depth review in a respected gaming magazine.
  • Get rid of the second person references - you removed one, but they are scattered throughout the text. You basically shouldn't use the word 'you' anywhere in the aritcle.
  • Cut any information in the article that is from your personal knowledge of the game. If it isn't mentioned in your reliable sources, leave it out.
The long and short of it is that Wikipedia isn't Wikia. We don't write what we know, we write what we can verify; we don't write about whatever we like, we write about stuff that we can show to be notable. Please don't submit the draft again for review without taking the steps above - this is a volunteer project, and reviewing drafts that are clearly unpublishable is a waste of our resources.
