License tagging for Image:Johann Reichhart.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Johann Reichhart.jpg. Johann Reichhart[edit]

Hi Wistlekiller, nice to see another historian interested in J. Reichhart. I'd like to know where you got the detail about only partially raising the fallbeil blade from which you inserted into the article mentioned above. Specialists on the German fallbeil practice I know (some of them with hands-on experience on surviving machines and construction knowledge down to the last bolt) are adamant that this was and is impossible - much too dangerious.--Kauko56 05:30, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the "partial raising of the blade", I got this information from a mutual web aquaintance of ours, Michael from Bois de Justice. I also remember hearing a similar statement on a Discovery Europe program on the guillotine. There was a short section at the end on the fallbeil and the curator of the museum (where there are a couple of fallbeils) mentioned the practice.
