Data ownership[edit]

Hi! I moved this article back to your userspace at User:Warnermcqueen/Data ownership. The reason is that the article needs some additional work before it's really ready to be made live.

The main issues that I saw were ones of sourcing, persuasive essay tones, and original research. You have various claims, however there aren't a lot of sources in the article that back this out. You also need to be careful of original research, which are conclusions and research that you created based on existing sources or knowledge as opposed to rephrasing existing research. Finally, be careful of essay tones, which are basically things or phrases that persuade the reader to see things in a certain light. For example, avoid things like "it's important to" and "This gets more difficult" as these are seen as subjective to the reader. What can be important or difficult for one may not be the same for the next person.

Also, make sure that your sources are the best possible sources. Academic sourcing will typically provide some of the strongest sourcing for articles, as it's easier to ensure that the outlet has a fairly stringent editorial and publishing policy that typically will go over the claims in the article as well as the author's credentials.

Let me know if you have any questions! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:25, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
