Disambiguation pages[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like Derventio are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the MOS:DAB you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory

Unlike regular article, DAB pages don't have detailed introductions, usually just "XXX may refer to:". Perhaps the information that you added could go in another article? Leschnei (talk) 21:20, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry - I'm new and it will take me some time to get to grips with what is deemed correct and what is not- I was trying to be efficient! If adding brief information that's common to all the 'ambiguous' articles on the disambiguation page is not allowed, then I'll have to add it to each of the individual linked articles, there's currently no other way . I'm a newby with no coding skills, so it will take some time to get to grips with the way things are done. There are a few notes and links at the top of the Presidio page - not sure if that's what you mean by hatnote. A disambiguation page is a very sensible solution - I'll try to figure out how to do it.
