thanks for the removal of the assasination of general pakravan. one thing that could be stated in his profile is that the reasoning for his proposal of exile for khomeini was solely for the purpose of maintaining order in the country amongst the ultra religious within the country - execution of khomeini would have led to civil unrest amongst this religious group. both general pakravan and the shah believe, and were correct, in that khomeini was, alone, incapable of doing any internal damage to the country. history shows that khomeini was backed by supporters, which included many western powers. pakravan and the shah were correct in their thought process that, alone, khomeini was just an uneducated religious fundamentalist...never imagining that one day he would have tremendous support in order to return and overthrow the shah.
