Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Lou Diamond Phillips, and I noticed that your username, "Tri publishing", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. WhoAteMyButter (📨📝) 22:04, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, this does not represent a company or firm, it’s just made up Tri publishing (talk) 22:23, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure? You seem to have an interest in Lou, and you like making positive edits. While it isn't illegal to not talk negatively of a subject, it does concern me that you have a WP:COI with this person. If you do have a COI and don't want to admit it out of fear of being blocked, you can declare a COI and ask that un-involved editors make changed on your request. WhoAteMyButter (📨📝) 22:30, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I’m his wife, I’m fixing some misinformation Tri publishing (talk) 22:33, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, please read WP:AUTO. Don″ edit articles of people that you have a relationship with. WhoAteMyButter (📨📝) 22:35, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You could alter this for me if you would? Tri publishing (talk) 22:36, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You need to declare your COI and then make edit requests on the article's talk page. After that, yes, editors can make un-biased edits if your request can be portrayed neutrally. If it can't, it may be denied. WhoAteMyButter (📨📝) 22:37, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But I am not a company, we just read things on here that are wrong. People should know the truth. Especially in today’s climate of race and culture, Lou does not want to misrepresent. He is Asian not Native ( those were the biggest changes that I made) Tri publishing (talk) 22:38, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but you misunderstand the purpose of Wikipedia. Please read over WP:TRUTH and Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth. WhoAteMyButter (📨📝) 22:39, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I just find it interesting that people add on here things that aren’t true anc don’t know ( they just site articles that they find online) and people who know the truth, cannot Tri publishing (talk) 22:40, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Everything I altered is verifiable eg. truth Tri publishing (talk) 22:42, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's good to add WP:RS sources and verifiable stuff. But you should also read WP:UNDUE and WP:AUTO. Regardless of if the sources are good, you may be using only positive sources too much. WhoAteMyButter (📨📝) 22:44, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

They are pretty neutral. Mostly facts neither positive or negative Tri publishing (talk) 22:54, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Tri publishing. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Lou Diamond Phillips, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. WhoAteMyButter (📨📝) 22:21, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

March 2021[edit]

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that in this edit to Lou Diamond Phillips, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:02, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
