Information icon

Hello Thanoscar21. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Thanoscar21. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Thanoscar21|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. GSS💬 14:43, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

Important Notice

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Your Ignorance

Why do Hispanic people need to go above and beyond to be considered American on this website when others do not have to show proof of their American citizenship or nationality....? Can you answer that? I'm sure if the person being described on the page is Caucasian, you just immediately take the editors word for it that they are American. They could have been born in Ireland and there would be no need to prove it because they fit your made-up American image. In case you haven't noticed, the United States is full of a diverse group of people with varying ethnic backgrounds. You and others like you on this site need to get with the times.👍🏼👍🏼💭No Caucasian person with a Wikipedia page is ever described as "white" or "Caucasian" or "Anglo", so why does Gabriel Fernandez's ethnic background matter? I don't think you realize your "rule" comes off very racist and discriminatory. Just wanted to let you know that! FightForWhatsRight (talk) 14:55, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Rollback granted

Hi Thanoscar21. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2020-07-05. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talkwork) 16:41, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Delvaux wikipedia page

Dear Thanoscar,

I answer to your message from yesterday. I tried to change the Wikipedia page relating to Delvaux. Delvaux is a company where I work as a legal counsel. (you can consult my linkedin page as a proof of my position there). We want to change the Delvaux page, as its content is not accurate and up to date. Therefore, we drafted a text that is more up to date. Also, the CEO of Delvaux has changed and it is an information that needs to be updated. How can I proceed to change it ?

RE: Section blanking

I think you made a mistake. Horse Eye Jack (talk) 23:52, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Also you used rollback inappropriately... I’m going to need an apology. Horse Eye Jack (talk) 23:53, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

@Horse Eye Jack: Your edit summary was literally, "It was a good delete though". Why delete notable brands? Some of the brands have their own pages, that should be Please explain to me how I made a mistake. How did I use rollback incorrectly? I clicked on "Good faith". If you would like an apology, then fine. I'm sorry if I caused you any distress. Thanks, Thanoscar21talk, contribs 00:06, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
And I didn't use rollback... I used RedWarn. Thanoscar21talk, contribs 00:06, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Just look at the edit history... Thats the second part of a two part edit, first I reverted Zefr’s edit because that was less work than teasing the individual bits out and then I deleted the *completely unsourced section* (yes I know they’re notable... I made I-Mei Foods) because I felt that part of their edit was good. I see now that you only said rollback when you did nothing of the sort, please don’t use misleading edit summaries like that. Horse Eye Jack (talk) 00:14, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Also don’t misquote me, I said “This section was a good delete though.” Your fix edit was also not a fix at all and I now need to go clean up your mess. Thanks. Horse Eye Jack (talk) 00:14, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Also wait... You reverted the other edit [1] with the edit summary “ Non-english is perfectly acceptable," not the one which deleted the unsourced section with the edit summary “This section was a good delete though," is that what you were trying to do? Horse Eye Jack (talk) 00:16, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
@Horse Eye Jack: I did not use rollback! I used RedWarn. Read through WP:THREATEN. And yes, I was trying to do that, I was going to revert the other edit, though I got distracted... Thanks, Thanoscar21talk, contribs 00:21, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Yes I realized that and corrected myself before your post, it means your edit summary was misleading though. You still need to explain your edit, your current “sorry, I fucked up” doesn’t really cut the mustard. Horse Eye Jack (talk) 00:23, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Horse Eye Jack: So this is all for an edit summary? Thanoscar21talk, contribs 00:26, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
This is about your, apparently unintentional, disruptive editing. I want to make sure you don’t repeat your unacceptable behavior. Horse Eye Jack (talk) 00:27, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Also I double checked... You did use rollback, its tagged [2]. Please excuse my lack of nuance when it comes to bad edits. Horse Eye Jack (talk) 00:32, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Theres also no justification for your edit, I should be the one placing a warning tag here for introducing unsourced text into an article not you placing a bullshit “section blanking” warning on my talk page. WTF was up with the warning? Horse Eye Jack (talk) 00:32, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Horse Eye Jack, what's unacceptable about my behavior? I made a mistake, everybody makes mistakes. What content did I add that was unsourced? I merely reinstated a section. If you want assurances, I won't do it again, I learnt from my mistake. Thank you. Thanoscar21talk, contribs 20:30, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Question about a change I made that you reverted.

You reverted a page I edited here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:2600:1700:3BD0:21CF:9048:D451:C5B2:9610

saying "but you didn't provide a reliable source." The change you reverted removed the link to the article from Xinhua News Agency - which is the official State-Run News Agency of record speaking of their own president.

Was the problem that I cited the reference incorrectly in my edit (in which case I could change it), or that you didn't like the source (though I'm not sure which news agency you'd think is better positioned to speak to the statements from the President of China). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:3BD0:21CF:9048:D451:C5B2:9610 (talk) 04:09, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Hello, Thanoscar21. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "sandbox/User:Thanoscar21".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! CptViraj (talk) 03:55, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

@YuukiHirohiko: Yup. There are news sources saying that the soldiers were killed, so it's very much confirmed. Here's a source and here's another. Thanks, Thanoscar21talk, contribs 18:38, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
Hi. Please read the talk page. https://eurasiantimes.com/how-many-chinese-soldiers-were-killed-in-the-india-china-border-clash/ YuukiHirohiko (talk) 22:45, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
@YuukiHirohiko: And what does that change? Thanoscar21talk, contribs 22:57, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
“ Sources in the Indian government are citing ‘some’ U.S. intelligence reports which claim that 35 Chinese soldiers were killed during the violent clash with the Indian army. The figure, however, is a combination of a total number of soldiers killed and wounded.” YuukiHirohiko (talk) 23:00, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
@YuukiHirohiko: I reverted the original edits because you replaced "sources" with "claims". Technically, the "Indian" part shouldn't be there. because Al Jazeera is definitely not Indian. Can you explain why you changed "sources" to "claims"? Thanks, Thanoscar21talk, contribs 23:07, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
The original sources were 43 killed claim released by ANI. YuukiHirohiko (talk) 23:08, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
@YuukiHirohiko: Ok, but that's not just a claim. Multiple WP:RS have stated that figure. Thanks, Thanoscar21talk, contribs 23:14, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
Consensus was met in talk page if it’s unconfirmed, it’s a claim. YuukiHirohiko (talk) 23:17, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
@YuukiHirohiko: Can you point to me where? Thanoscar21talk, contribs 20:29, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi, there was a section and you should try finding it in the old versions. There was a discussion where people were thinking of leaving it as Indian sources or claims on the 40 deaths figure, instead of saying “Indian media made up the 43 deaths” because China rejected the 40+ death toll, its better to leave it as “claimed”. No major western nor Chinese media acknowledges the 43 casualties, the only initial source was ABP news and it was deemed long unreliable as it’s a party backed media. @YuukiHirohiko: Can you provide a diff please? Thanoscar21talk, contribs 19:33, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
@YuukiHirohiko: See the RfC on the talk page. Thanoscar21talk, contribs 23:04, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Thanoscar21. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account.

Mz7 (talk) 22:19, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
