Alta Vista[edit]

Alta Vista is a very ambiguous term, indeed, which leads to many problems. First off, I have never really considered Alta Vista to go south of Heron, as that is Heron Gate and Ridgemont neighbourhoods. The problem with the maps you showed was that the first one is just clumps of census tracts put together, and the second one is showing Alta Vista Ward which includes my neighbourhood of Riverview as well. Alta Vista does have a core, and that would be the area around Alta Vista Drive, mainly between Smyth and Heron. I have always considered the area east of the greenspace to be part of Alta Vista, but I cannot be sure of that. My map of Ottawa by the government, that shows all the subneighbourhoods has "Alta Vista" is larger font than the rest of the neighbourhoods, which probably means that it trumps all the nearby neighbourhoods. Magnetic induction[edit]

about the house picture[edit]

The picture we have now is horrible. The entire thing is just a black square with three out of the five letters showing. We can do alot better and i put that template there so people can be aware that a better picture is needed for the article.

Unity = 1[edit]

Sorry to be pedantic, but I don't like seeing users editing entries (in this case 'Paramagnetism') when they were correct to start with. I wish you to know that 'unity', in scientific terminology, is the equivalent to '1'. So 'greater than unity' means 'greater than one'. You should know this, as a scientist. yeah, thanks for that. i am well aware that unity can be used to refer to the number one (thus me changing unity to 1 in the artice). i just thought that the phrase "greater than unity" sounded illogical and ostentatious. in the interest of those who may not know what it means to be greater than unity, i changed it (back) to 1, which everyone is familiar with. if you had bothered to check the discussion page, you would see that someone already had been confused by that awkward wording. howbout next time spending your time and effort fixing crucial errors and omissions instead of reverting someone's 2 month old edit just to prove to the world you know what unity means? --Someones life 04:34, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
