Hello!

Ecstatic Dance events have become a worldwide attraction. However, there is currently no written history nor publicity due to a strict 'no photography' rule.

The article was flagged for removal. Can it stay up until reliable sources of reference can be established?

No. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball; we cannot predict that reliable sources will come to exist in the future. And until those sources exist and are added to the article, our readers cannot verify its content. You may want to look for print sources such as newspaper articles, reputable magazines or maybe books. Huon (talk) 22:19, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Photo request[edit]

Sky, I'm honoured that you thanked me for my work on Ecstatic dance, a major topic which deserves detailed coverage. I have managed to find images for much of the article (including by grabbing stills from a classic documentary film, now happily Public Domain), but I have nothing on modern ecstatic dance, i.e. Gabrielle Roth or after. One reason for this is that while we dance we quite rightly don't take photographs (so I don't have any); another is that Wikipedia and Commons aren't for publicity shots.

If by any chance you have taken some usable photos yourself (non-intrusive, non-advertising, genuinely ecstatic) then it would be great if you could upload them to Commons and mark them as 'own work' (and let me know).

If you have images you didn't take yourself, they can also be uploaded, but you'd have to get the copyright owners to fill in an OTRS ticket to certify they're happy to give them to Commons (not really difficult, but a bit of a faff). That's very good of you. If you do find something to upload, uploading happens at Commons Upload Wizard. It takes you through the steps, basically choosing the image, then stating it was your own work (or not), and giving it a suitable name and description.
