License tagging for Image:Noknife.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Noknife.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Darcy002.jpg[edit]

I'm always curious about how people come about releasing photos of celebrities etc. into the public domain. In regards to this image of d'arcy... you took the photo yourself... or what? You should leave a description on the image that certifies that you are the rightful owner of the image and whatnot. I'm not accusing or anything, but I always wonder if whoever uploads these things just finds them on some backwater website and slaps the "I hereby release this into the public domain..." tag onto the image. - Phorque 19:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
