Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Sandraecheverria1984. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Sandra Echeverría, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Please don't add unsourced information to the article. The original claim was also unsourced so I have simply removed all mention of parents. Since you claim to be the subject, you should read WP:BLPHELP and confirm your identity to WP:OTRS. Otherwise we don't know that you are who you claim to be, and editors often incorrectly claim to be the subject of articles (or their spouse/child/agent/whatever) in an attempt to control article content. Any doubt of the info I’m editing in here is true. I’ve tried to change it many times and Wikipedia just rejects it with no fundamentals. I can send passport or birth certificate or any document you need to support what I’m changing. Sandraecheverria1984 (talk) 22:25, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

April 2020[edit]

Thank you very much, this account has been verified. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:00, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, Sandraecheverria1984, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:

  1. Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
  2. Please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles email is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:29, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

BECAUSE I AM!!! Give me an address to send official papers to prove. Sandraecheverria1984 (talk) 23:04, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"BECAUSE I AM!!!" does not help. We're not trying to offend you, but again, we don't know that you are who you claim to be. We're asking you to prove it to protect the article. You are not the first user to claim to be the subject of this article.
Please read the messages that we have already left you. I gave you the links to follow that explain how to contact Wikipedia, and user:ToBeFree gave you the email to use directly: "please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org"
Note that even if you do confirm your identity to OTRS you will still be subject to conflict of interest rules. You should declare your conflict of interest and propose your changes on the article's talk page rather than making them yourself. Other Wikipedia users will decide if the changes will be made. Anything other than your basic personal information will still need to be sourced to reliable sources. Meters (talk) 23:31, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t know how to read your whole message. When I click the link it just directs me where it says that my account has been blocked. I already wrote to Wikipedia on Twitter through my official Twitter account. Hope there someone can help me. Will try also through my Instagram. Wikipedia has been publishing false information about me forever. My mother is not Dominican. My father’s name is Eduardo no Mario. Is just false information here. And can’t believe Wikipedia can publish that without confirming that information is true. Sandraecheverria1984 (talk) 23:38, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please send me an email to send my passport. Can’t send it over here. The site doesn’t let me. Sandraecheverria1984 (talk) 23:41, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Accessing a wikipedia page such as WP:BLPHELP or WP:OTRS is not affected by whether you are blocked. You can still read the pages. You cannot edit those pages if you are blocked, but you should not be attempting to do that anyways. You must email the provided contact. Don't try to contact OTRS through social media. Your Wikipedia email account should work, or any other emailer you use. We have already given you the email address to use three times.
And Wikipedia is no longer publishing that information. As I pointed out, I removed it because it was not sourced and you had challenged it. Wikipedia currently says nothing at all about your parents.Meters (talk) 23:50, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:59, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for confirming your identity. I'll keep an eye on the article's talk page so that I can respond to any of your proposed changes. Meters (talk) 21:35, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
