Population of Cranleigh[edit]

Both figures are correct. The one in the article on Cranleigh gives the population of the parish, which includes the village and some nearby hamlets; the one in the article on the largest village in England is the figure for the contiguous built-up area, as defined by the ONS. I considered that this was a more accurate figure for the population of a village, as some lie in more than one parish, and others are in parishes which contain other significant settlements. Either way, the most important thing is to have all the figures in the largest village list from the same source, to allow a fair comparison. Warofdreams talk 16:41, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
