April 2017[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Harry Carey Jr., you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 05:20, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

Please help me with... I would like to know how to nominiate a recent death (RD) to appear on the main page under "In the News" Recent Deaths. If I look at the Recent Deaths page the individual is listed but I feel they should be listed on the main page. Rsstorey (talk) 19:20, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Both Recent Deaths and In the News nominations are made at WP:ITNC. I would advise you to read WP:ITN first. The bar for an ITN posting for a death is very high(due to the presence of Recent Deaths) and is usually reserved for those at the tip-top of their field, were world-transformative, or when the death of a notable person is a story itself, receiving extensive coverage(such as for Queen Elizabeth). If the person you want to nominate already is on RD, there should be an existing discussion section for it. 331dot (talk) 19:49, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
