Robert- Thanks for taking the time to write about French translations on the Atlas Shrugged page. Permit me to ask: if a book isn't translated into French, the first explanation I would think of is that there isn't sufficient reader interest. Now frankly, that sounds implausible for a work like Atlas Shrugged. But jeez -- how could you possibly enforce a ban on translating a work, at least without leaving some sort of paper trail? To my way of thinking this is all fairly baffling. I'm not sure what to make of it. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. Measure for Measure (talk) 07:30, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Robert- FYI: There's a wiki article on censorship in France. If you find any printed articles about the phenomenon that you describe, perhaps you could add a section to that article. This might be a variety of corporate censorship, but it would be probably better to invent a new label. Like I said earlier, it's a perplexing situation.
