Hi. I've deleted this article, because it read as if it were promotional material, and it did not have the appropriate tone for an encyclopedia article. Articles must be neutral in tone; Here, that would mean an article that starts off as "Coromandel International is an Indian corporation founded in Year. The company is involved in industry, industry, and industry." It's neutral in tone, reports unambiguous facts about the company, and can be cited to a source that confirms the information. Your article also lacked these sources; all articles must have reliable sources independent of the subject. If you want to work on a draft article, you can do so at User:Rkchava/Coromandel, which will create a draft in your userspace. However, Please review our policies before proceeding. You can post {{helpme}} on this page if you require further assistance. Best, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 13:03, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like we posted at the same time. I've given you a start for the article, at User:Rkchava/Coromandel. Have a look at some of the other articles in Category:Corporations, as this should give you a good idea of the tone and format you'll want to follow when re-writing the article. Elements about things like Corporate Timeline, Values, and the logo aren't really good elements to include, unless there is independent coverage of these elements (A news article on a new logo, for example). The key is that almost everything in the article should be backed by a neutral, independent source that confirms the information. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. A tag has been placed on Coromandel International requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. trakesht (talk) 13:31, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help request[edit]

{{helpme}} Rkchava (talk) 04:18, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am unclear why the page that I am creating is getting deleted. I tried readnig through the instructions, but am still confused. Rkchava (talk) 04:19, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, we cannot accept copyrighted content, and it appears that the contents of that page was copied and pasted directly from another website. Tim Song (talk) 06:29, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help request[edit]

{{help}} Can some one help me with this page and check if this is acceptable ?

RK Chava 07:09, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

  • When you leave messages, please remember to "sign" your name, by putting ~~~~ (four tilde signs) at the end. This will add your name, and the date and time. You can also do this by clicking the 'sign' button, pictured here.
  • I have moved this help request from Talk:Coromandel International to your own talk page; please use {{helpme}} here. The article discussion page is for discussing the article with other editors; a 'helpme' is to get individual help with any Wikipedia problems.
  • The article, currently, lacks references to reliable sources which are independent. Google, and a maps listing, are not sufficient; see WP:FIRST

Just after  Chzz , I came along and cleaned up a few more things. None of the references you used are considered to be reliable sources, so I've removed them. I moved the company's url into the infobox, fixed a few typos, and added some more tags. Unless you can find some solid sources about the company, though, the page is likely to be deleted again. Can you give me illustrations for reliable sources for coromandel international ? I tried reuter, bse, yahoo and the hindu, none of which seem to be acceptable.
RK Chava 08:10, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I've gone through the sources currently being referenced and commented on each of them on the article's talk page. I recommend that you read WP:Reliable sources and WP:Reliable source examples for more information. And if you have questions after that, a good place to ask is at the Reliable sources noticeboard. A tag has been placed on Coromandel International, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rkchava for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Avono♂ (talk) 15:23, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Coromandel International has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Coromandel Internationalnews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on Metier Solutions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
