the rules[edit]

Hello--You've already got a welcome, but here's another. If you plan to contribute to editing much, spend some time looking around the links above, it'll be helpful. Most of the rules really come down to "try to not make the encyclopedia a mess and try to be nice". It would have been fine if you'd jumped in and made the change to the IS-LM article yourself, with an edit summary to make it clear you were doing so for a good reason. Someone may have then reverted your change, in which case you could have started arguing about it on the talk page. Or you can go straight to the talk page as you did.
