Routine discretionary alerts[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Dansville State Game Area moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Dansville State Game Area, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. January 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Ku Klux Klan, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 14:47, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Making things "less political" by removing well-sourced descriptions is a violation of Wikipedia's neutral point of view. We describe what the sources describe. Don't whitewash articles. Acroterion (talk) 14:49, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alright thank you. I was removing the "far-right" (and "far-left" descriptions not because I wish it held a different description but because I wish to help readers not be influenced to vote in a certain way whether left or right wing by a Wikipedia article stating a group is right or left wing extremism. The fact is, is that extremists do not belong on the political spectrum and should all be regarded as terrorists or extremists depending on the threat they pose to the public. However as you wish I will not be removing any more parts of articles to "remove bias" or any other reasons. Thank you RedCedarPine (talk) 15:07, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We don’t pretend something that exists doesn’t, and intentionally altering or obscuring factual information because it might influence someone’s views is itself a violation of neutrality. We don’t obscure Pol Pot’s views or the Red Army Faction. Why would we be afraid to accurately describe the Klan? Acroterion (talk) 15:26, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize if you find my point of view offending. But the KKK was after all led by the Democratic party. I don't want users to think that the modern Democratic party still believes such things. As I said, I will not be making any political edits moving forward. RedCedarPine (talk) 15:38, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There are lot of people who are unaware of or who willfully obscure the relative reversal of the two parties since the 1860s. We're not going to change their minds, we just state what is, or was. Acroterion (talk) 15:46, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
