April 2020[edit]

Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to the Home (Star Trek: Enterprise) plot summary have been removed because they added a significant amount of unnecessary detail. Please avoid excessive detail and high word counts when editing plot summaries/synopses. You may read the plot summary edit guides to learn more about contributing constructively to plot summaries/synopses. There are also specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 13:05, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I hope you realize you are only expressing an opinion. A major ongoing plot component, and one of the most attractive things about the "Enterprise" edition of Star Trek, is the Tucker+T'Pol plotline. Details about their progression are in no way unnecessary. The details I offered allowed an Enterprise fan to know where to find particular scenes with Tucker+T'Pol (i.e., "oh, in this episode that happened -- I remember now -- I want to watch that"). When people talk about Wikipedia being a slanted arbitrary reference, what you did here offers a perfect example.

P.S., I followed the "talk page" link you provided and there was no place -- amidst all the unnecessary detail on that page -- to give a reply, so I made one here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by QuixoteReborn (talkcontribs) 20:51, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WP:TVPLOT is the relevant guideline. If you feel it's a guideline that shouldn't apply in this case, you're welcome to raise the subject at the article's Talk page. Failing a consensus to waive that guideline, you're welcome to refactor the plot to include the information you'd like to see added at the expense of other plot details.
Obviously your statements about the Tucker-T'Pol plotline are in and of themselves opinions. Of course, people who want to follow such developments could look at Memory Alpha or a variety of other sites that are more focused on Star Trek specifically.
Replying here is fine, but if you were at my Talk page you should have been able to add a new section easily enough. You may wish to review Help:Talk pages, which discusses how to do so. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 20:57, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

For the same reason I have reverted your edits to the Plot section of the Star Trek Enterprise episode Similitude. You can rephrase, but don't add anything if you cannot remove something else. You need to follow MOS:TVPLOT and keep episode summaries below 400 words. -- 109.76.202.207 (talk) 05:38, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

July 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Home (Star Trek: Enterprise), it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 12:36, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you are referring to. 90% of my edit was to add quotes that were directly from the script and let those quotes speak for themselves. I twice referenced the source of the script, but of course did not do so on every quote since the method seemed obvious. In a "Character Development" section, it is appropriate to call out that this episode was more focused on character than any other in the catalogue. Any fair minded observer who watched the episode would agree.

With that said, the editor deleted a very large quantity of good content. Baby and the bathwater, sadly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by QuixoteReborn (talkcontribs) 09:50, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
