Quebradillas mayors[edit]

It'd be nice to see a source for the list of mayors. Do you happen to have a source? --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 21:31, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, San Ildefonso Conciliar Seminary of Puerto Rico, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. buidhe 02:10, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Fundación Jaime Benítez Rexach requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Just for information for the future... you shouldn't remove your original comment entirely from any discussion or talk page on Wikipedia, as it will seem like you are trying to hide something (I know this isn't your intention, I am not accusing you of it), and another editor may restore your original comment. If you change your mind or want to change your statement, you should just strike it out, and then write your updated comment afterward. Richard3120 (talk) 15:32, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon

Hello Psycharpax. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to FBOY Island, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Psycharpax. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Psycharpax|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. – Joe (talk) 14:40, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is to confirm that I have not received compensation for my edits to the Wikipedia article for FBOY Island nor any other contribution I have made on other Wikimedia sister projects. Psycharpax (talk) 17:37, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

I am sorry if any action I have taken was perceived as a conflict of interest. I did hold a month-long internship with the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture during the month of June. If employed in the future, as I am currently a university student, I will of course disclose any and all conflicts of interest per the paid editing disclosure requirements. Decline reason:

Given the existence of non-public evidence, you should probably follow the request below and appeal to Arbcom. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 05:18, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Unblock discussion[edit]

You clearly have a conflict of interest, and you've added promotional content. On the other hand you have a DYK. One of the reasons for your block is a promotional user name, so we need to address that.. misread @Joe Roe: can you help me understand the user name issue? Is what they've said otherwise sufficient? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:35, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Deepfriedokra: I don't remember there being any issue with Psycharpax's username – did I say that somewhere? I don't think their unblock request above sufficiently addresses. The off-wiki evidence shows that they have been taking commissions to write articles and, ironically, the Puerto Rico-related edits were the only ones I thought weren't COI. – Joe (talk) 12:02, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Misread the block notice. The template confused me thanks. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 13:50, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Psycharpax: I don't know why users are so reluctant to disclose their PAID status-- to the point of dissembly and evasion. PAID editing is allowed. undisclosed paid editing is not. I'll leave the request open for the sake of renewed discussion, but at this point a decline would be justified. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 13:57, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I thank you both, @Joe Roe and @Deepfriedokra for taking the time to protect Wikipedia from edits that go against its principles. I have never been offered nor have I ever asked for any sort of payment or remuneration for any edit I have ever committed on Wikipedia and its sister projects. I am aware, even before the block, of the requirement of disclosing paid edits. However, I cannot admit something I have not done, even if it would restore my one and only account and on which I have worked every edit of mine since April of 2020. It was never my intention to undutifully provoke a promotional stance on any edit I have published. How would I be able to prove that I have not received any compensation whatsoever from my volunteer work, except that of the satisfaction itself of contributing to Wikipedia? Psycharpax (talk) 14:47, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your denial is simply not plausible given the nonpublic evidence. You are better off appealing to the arbitration committee if you want to continue to dispute this, but you're not going to be unblocked unless you start being honest. – Joe (talk) 15:10, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
